Ms. Steinhoff
Hello! Welcome to 7th grade English Language Arts. I am happy you are here!

I teach 7th grade Foundations, ELA 7 and Mythology. I believe that a successful classroom is filled with laughter and smiles. Having fun and learning are two things that when put together make for an optimal classroom environment. In our class, the students are at the center. It is important to create lessons and an environment where everyone feels welcome and safe. With these things, learning and growing become more possible.

My goal as a teacher is to help students find their voice, feel empowered to take control of their learning & education, and to reframe how most students have experienced the educational system so far. I aim to find ways for every single student to find success while we are learning together.

I grew up in Macalester Groveland with my mom, dad and younger brother. I attended Randolph Heights Elementary (an SPPS school), then moved on to Twin Cities Academy (a charter school located in Saint Paul at the time), and graduated from Henry Sibley High School (Mendota Heights, ISD 197). I believe that having experienced a variety of school environments allows me to bring a unique perspective to my teaching.

I now live in Northeast Minneapolis with my cat, Luna. She is named after the Harry Potter character, Luna Lovegood. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I especially enjoy spending time with my parent's two dogs, Bodi and Ziggy. I also like to spend time out in the sunshine in the warm summer months, walking around the Minneapolis lakes or my neighborhood. Living in Northeast allows me to experience a variety of fun restuarants and entertaining events. So, you can find me on a sunny patio enjoying delicious food and the company of friends in the spring and summer.
