Ms. Williams
Greetings!
My name is Ms. Williams, and I teach sixth-grade English Language Arts (ELA) at Murray Middle School. I've been working for Saint Paul Public Schools since 2012. My students are the reason I teach. They inspire me every day! Middle school is my jam, and I love the energy and creativity the students bring to school. I also love the workshop model curriculum our district embraces. During ELA class, students learn and apply strategies that become part of a toolbox of necessary skills, strategies, and inquiry work needed to thrive in high school and beyond. We expose students to a multitude of texts and assist students in finding a genre or author they are passionate about reading. My goal is to help inspire and guide students to become lifelong readers and strong writers.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my four children, my partner, Jesse, and our two dogs. We enjoy camping, traveling, and hiking while foraging for wild mushrooms. When I have time to myself, I enjoy working out, puzzling, escape rooms, cooking, or reading.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns at rebecca.stedje@spps.org.
Happy reading!
