Ms. Williams
Greetings!
My name is Ms. Williams, and I teach sixth-grade English Language Arts (ELA) at Murray Middle School. I've been working for Saint Paul Public Schools since 2012. My students are the reason I teach. They inspire me every day! Middle school is my jam, and I love the energy and creativity the students bring to school. I also love the workshop model curriculum our district embraces. During ELA class, students learn and apply strategies that become part of a toolbox of necessary skills, strategies, and inquiry work needed to thrive in high school and beyond. We expose students to a multitude of texts and assist students in finding a genre or author they are passionate about reading. My goal is to help inspire and guide students to become lifelong readers and strong writers.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my three teenagers. We enjoy camping with our two yellow labrador retrievers, hiking as we forage for wild mushrooms, and listening to live music on the patio in the summer. When I have time to myself, I enjoy running, boxing, reading, or cooking.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns at rebecca.stedje@spps.org.
Happy reading!
