• Notebook dedicated for science (I will collect them at times through out the year)
• Folder for handouts
• Pen or Pencil
Earth Science classes will be learning about local geology this year. In first trimester we work to understand rocks, minerals, soils, stream dynamics, and other principles of geology that help us make sense of the earth's history. We will study earthquakes, volcanoes, and the theory of plate tectonics. The second trimester, students will be studying the three factors that interact to create weather and learn to forecast weather and prepare a forecast for the school's morning announcements. The third trimester will end as we make sense of the solar system, our galaxy, and the expanding universe.
