Hello! My name is Ellen Carter and I teach 6th grade Reader's and Writer's Workshop! This is my third year in St Paul Public Schools and my 7th year of teaching overall. I am so grateful to be a part of the Murray Pilots Community!

During 6th Grade Reader's and Writer's Workshop, students learn and apply strategies that become part of a toolbox of necessary skills, strategies, and inquiry work they need to thrive in high school and beyond. We expose students to a multitude of texts and assist students in finding a genre or author they are passionate about reading. My goal is to help inspire and guide students in becoming lifelong readers, critical thinkers, and strong writers. 

When I'm not at school you can find me at the movies, going for walks along the Mississippi, baking (bread and sweets!), spending time with my friends, doing crossword puzzles, and playing with my two cats, Bea and Rosie! I love reading, story-telling, and learning new things!

The best way to contact me is through email, but I am also available for texts and calls during school hours through my Google Voice number.
