Hello! 

Welcome to my classroom. My name is Janey Atchison. I teach 6th grade Minnesota Studies and 7th grade America Studies. I have previously taught women's history, world cultures and AVID here at Murray. I have worked at Murray for the past 7 years! 

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in business and then returned to school for my teaching license and master's degree. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in education policy with a specific focus on school finance and the economics of education. 

In my free time, I can be found playing broomball, running many miles around our great city, puzzling, and eating ice cream! I live on the East Side of St. Paul with my longtime partner, another teacher in St. Paul, our dog, and two fat cats.

Please note- I am on leave for the 2024-2025 school year. I will be returning in August 2025.
