| 2006 - 2007 8th Grade Band Events In addition to our three in school concerts, the 8th grade Challenge Jazz Band is performing in the "J to Z" Jazz Series sponsored by the Twin Cities Jazz Society on Thursday, April 26th, 2007. The performance will be recorded and aired on the "Jazz Image" with Leigh Kamman on MPR shortly following the performance. As the Challenge Jazz Band prepares for this event, the group will attend an All-Day Improvisation workshop/seminar at Minnesota State University in Makato. Hosted by and under the instruction of Dr. Douglas Snapp, Head of Jazz Studies, and Director of the JazzMn Big Band, the Murray 8th grade Challenge jazz students will be coached in the art of jazz improvisation. This date is scheduled for Friday April 20th, 2007. | ||||
