Earth Science
Earth Science classes will be learning about local geology this year.  In first trimester we work to understand rocks, minerals, soils, stream dynamics, and other principles of geology that help us make sense of the earth's history.  We will study earthquakes, volcanoes, and the theory of plate tectonics.    The second trimester, students will be studying the three factors that interact to create weather and learn

to forecast weather and prepare a forecast for the school's morning announcements.  The third trimester will end as we make sense of the solar system, our galaxy, and the expanding universe.

In Magnet Science II the students continue to understand how scientists work.  We will be learning how the electromagnetic spectrum will be used to better understand what we
know about the universe around us.  The students will present their findings from their own individual inquiry project at Murray's Science Fair in January.  Link to the web classroom to get to the current assignment and more detailed descriptions. Second trimester we will work to understand how chemical reactions happen and the third trimester will be spent on standards in life sciences.
