English 8 Challenge

"KNOWLEDGE IS POWER."--Francis Bacon

Are you ready to appreciate the power and beauty of words?  Are you ready to  realize that writing and reading well will help you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the world in which you live?  I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach you this trimester.  You are an incredibly important person and I cannot wait to learn more about you.

Goal:  to become skillful readers, writers, and speakers of English.  We will read and analyze texts together, and we will use the writing process to write our own texts.  As we do this, we will review and learn the meanings of words as well as the rules of written and spoken English.
