 Course Syllabus:                     Study Skills

 Course Description:            This course is primarily designed to accommodate students with specific Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goals for organization, time management test taking skills and work completion.  It will provide for individual needs as described on each student’s IEP.

 Course Goals for Resource:            Students will:

1.                  Use planner to record mainstream class assignments.

2.                  Bring materials, books, worksheets, and supplies to class for those assignments.

3.                  Work on organization skills to become independent at completion of assignments.

4.                  Bring a book for the SPPS goal of 25 books per year to read when other assignments are completed.

5.                  Build skills in academic areas specified in the IEP.

6.                  Be allowed to complete tests from mainstream classes in resource.

 

Grading: Grading is based on cooperation, effort and the proper use of the students time and assignment completion of work assigned by the regular education teachers. Students will earn a possible 6 points per day. 2 points for being on time with work prepared, 2 points for having their planner with assignments recorded and 2 points for using their time wisely and completing assignments.

A+ = 98 - 100

A = 92 - 97.9

A- = 90 - 91.9

B+ = 88 - 89.9

B = 82 - 87.9

B- = 80 - 81.9

C+ = 78 - 79.9

C = 72 - 77.9

C- = 70 - 71.9

D+ = 68 - 69.9

D = 62 - 67.9

D- = 60 - 61.9
