 | | Ms. Becvar | I am an English teacher who is married to a St. Paul Math teacher. (He works at Murray Junior High as well.) I started teaching at Murray in 1995 after receiving my degree from Bethel College. I have a degree in Language Arts Secondary Education as well as a minor in writing. A few years ago, I returned to Bethel to get my Master's Degree in Education. I wrote my thesis on the topic of father absence and it's effect on the lives of children.
After meeting at our church, my husband and I were married in 1998. In January of 2003, we received a wonderful gift when our daughter, Jordan Ruth, was born. At this point, she is a very outgoing 5 year old girl who likes to sing songs and is starting kindergarten this year. Her most interesting feature is that she has a whole head of reddish brown hair. In October of 2004, we welcomed Toby Jacob to our family. His most interesting feature is that he has the sweetest smile. He is almost four years old and he loves to ride his bike in the hockey rink by our house. In October of 2007, Honor Luke joined our family. He is an extremely charming 10-month old who likes to pick up crumbs and hairballs off of the floor.
I come from a family of teachers. My dad is a retired St. Paul Math teacher and my mom used to teach pre-school. My grandma taught in a one room schoolhouse. My sister is an English teacher in Brooklyn Center. My brother went against the grain and is becoming a doctor.
At this point in time, my husband and I have been married for 8 years. Our favorite things to do involve spending time together as a family. We love taking walks, reading, traveling, and going out for coffee and dessert. We like it when students want to have our whole family over for dinner.
